Baby Boomer with nail polish - Step By Step

Baby Boomer with nail polish - Step By Step

Baby boomer nails are incredibly popular and something that many people want to create. The look is feminine and very natural. Baby boomer is popular to do with gel, gel polish, or shellac, but here is a guide on how to make Baby Boomer nails with regular nail polish. At the bottom of the page, you can also find a list of the items that have been used, so you can easily buy them when you want to get started at home.

Baby Boomer nails are a gradient you create on the nails. This means that the nail polish fades out and changes color the further you go in the design.

How to do Baby Boomer nails with nail polish:

  1. Cleanse the nails with CND Scrubfresh. This helps remove all bacteria from the nail and ensures long-lasting results.
  2. Apply White Wedding to the entire nail.
  3. Apply liquid tape (liquid latex) to the cuticle area. Protect from CJS can also be used.
  4. Dab Bouquet + White Wedding onto the sponge – you need to use a lot because the sponge absorbs a lot.
  5. Dab the sponge onto the nail so that the white color is closest to the tip of the nail and the pink is closest to the cuticle.
  6. Repeat until the design is as you want it. In the video, it is repeated 5 times.
  7. Use your Clean Up brush to remove nail polish from the cuticle area.
  8. Remove the liquid tape from the cuticle area.
  9. Finish with CND Vinylux Topcoat for an extra durable result.
This design is made using the Pinkies set YES I DO from CND Vinylux, so you can get all the nail polishes used for this design in one package.
Here you can see a video where the entire Baby Boomer design is created:
The video is made in collaboration with Bambina Nails aka Karina Lutzke.
