Cuticle care
| When you want beautiful and durable nails, cuticle care is an important part of the process. The cuticles protect your nails and shield them from dirt that can cause infections. The cuticles need care just like your nails, so you can advantageously combine your nail care to also include your cuticles. There are many nourishing creams for the cuticles. Some have a micro-peeling effect and care, and some only have nourishing effects. When you treat your cuticles, you should work gently. The cuticles are the nails' protectors, preventing dirt and grime from reaching the matrix. The matrix, also called the nail mother, is where the nail is produced and therefore must be protected. You may soften your cuticles and gently push them back with a cuticle pusher, so they don't grow too far down the nail, but do not cut them or scrape too hard. It is a good idea to apply nail polish immediately after you have pushed the cuticles back and polish 1 mm from the cuticle. When the cuticle settles again, it will appear as if you have polished right up to the nail. Most creams for the cuticles are used morning and evening. A small dab is placed on the cuticle and rubbed into the cuticle until it is absorbed and does not leave the cuticles shiny and greasy. |
