Water Decals are a cool tool for creating advanced Nail Art – without it actually being advanced. You can easily apply beautiful designs to your nails with Water Decals, featuring motifs you wouldn't be able to create directly on your nails yourself. At least, it would be difficult. Water decals are placed in water, after which you can transfer the design to your nail. The principle is a bit like those tattoos from when you were a child – you know, the ones from chewing gum wrappers. How do you use Water Decals?- Remove the protective film from the top of the water decal sheet.
- Find the right size decal for your nails and cut them out.
- Place a decal in a bowl of water and let it sit for about 15-20 seconds. Work with one decal at a time.
- Take the decal out of the water and gently slide it off the backing paper, then carefully dab off the water with a piece of paper towel.
- Place the decal on the nail and gently press it into place with a makeup sponge, paper towel, or your finger. Make sure the edges of the decal are close to the nail. Use a nail, angled tweezers, or a cuticle pusher to gently press the edges in. Be careful not to press so hard that the decal breaks.
- Trim the decal if it is too large for the nail and use a cleanup brush and acetone to tidy up the edges.
- Use a thin brush and black nail polish to outline the decal.
- Apply topcoat to the nails.
