You’ve just applied the most beautiful polish, and then you just need to fix something – Whoops, now there’s a scratch in the nail polish and you have to start all over again!
It took five years to create CND™ SHELLAC®, and it was definitely worth the wait. CND™ SHELLAC® is a fusion between regular nail polish and gel. You get the durability from the gel, but the lightness and soft look from the nail polish.
CND™ SHELLAC® is a treatment that can be booked with professional CND nail technicians and costs between 299 – 599 DKK. CND™ SHELLAC® must cure under UV light, and as soon as the treatment is finished, you can reach into your bag and find your keys. The polish is COMPLETELY dry.

What is CND™ SHELLAC®?

CND™ SHELLAC® is a gel polish and cannot be used to build up or extend the nail. If you want to extend the nail, you are looking for gel, acrylic, or acrylic gel/hybrid gel.
Since CND™ SHELLAC® came out in 2011, many, many other gel polishes have been introduced to the market. Some better than others. Some for home use. Some exclusively for people trained in a very specific part of the nail industry, like CND™ SHELLAC®.

How to remove CND Shellac

One of the advantages of CND™ SHELLAC® is its gentle removal. There is no need to file the nail as you do with gel or acrylic nails.
Instead, CND™ Offly Fast is used. You can find a remover kit with everything you need to remove your CND Shellac right here.

1. Soak a nail wipe with CND Offly Fast and place it on the nail
2. Next, wrap a piece of foil around the nail or use the smart reusable soak-off clips and wait 5-8 minutes
3. Afterwards, you can easily scrape off the SHELLAC® with a wooden stick or another gentle tool.
4. Finish with nail oil to restore the moisture balance.

A CND™ SHELLAC® treatment lasts about 14 days, and many CND™ SHELLAC® colors have a matching color in CND Vinylux, which is a regular but very durable air-drying nail polish.
Anyone, even without training, can use it. So if you have fallen in love with a particular color during a CND™ SHELLAC® treatment but don’t want to continue visiting your nail technician, you can still find the beautiful color in the Vinylux series.

Where can you buy CND™ SHELLAC®

You can’t just buy CND™ SHELLAC®, as it is a professional product reserved for cosmetologists and only for CND-trained Shellac and nail technicians. There are many good reasons for this. If you find a place where Shellac is sold to private consumers, there is a high chance that it is a fake product. So, you cannot be sure about the product and it can have serious consequences for your health.
If you wish to try CND™ SHELLAC®, I will always recommend contacting a CND Certified clinic.
If you want to do gel polish at home, I recommend finding a gel polish product intended for home use. Remember that this is chemistry and these chemicals must be handled correctly, as misuse can carry the risk of allergies or injuries.
