How to save your damaged nails

How to save your damaged nails

In 5 minutes, you may have found the solution to your damaged nails. Read on and learn more about what you can do.

Whether your nails are brittle, split, or have lost their natural shine, this guide is for you. We will guide you step-by-step and give you valuable tips and tricks to achieve healthy and beautiful nails. Let’s get started!

Products you will need:

1. Start by removing old nail polish

The first and most important part of the process is to remove any old nail polish. Use a nail polish remover without acetone to avoid drying out your nails. Moisten a cotton pad or a wipe with nail polish remover and hold it on your nail for about 5 seconds. Wipe outwards and away from the cuticle to avoid discolored skin and nails. Repeat until all the nail polish is gone.

2. File and shape your nails

Use a nail file to give your nails the desired shape. If you have brittle or weak nails, it is recommended to use a file with an extra fine grit. We always recommend grit 240 for natural nails.

3. Strengthen your nails with a nail strengthener

If your nails are weak and easily damaged, you can use a nail strengthener to help them become stronger. A nail strengthener often contains proteins and minerals that are essential for nail health. Apply a thin layer of nail strengthener to each nail and let it dry completely before moving on to the next step. There is often an instruction leaflet included with the nail hardener, which you can advantageously follow.

4. Apply a nourishing nail cream

After filing and shaping your nails, it’s time to pamper them with a nourishing nail cream. Choose a cream that contains moisturizing ingredients and is AHA-based, as it helps to soften and micro-peel your cuticles and the surrounding skin. Massage the cream into your nails and cuticles to nourish them and make them soft and supple.

5. Care for your nails with nail oil

To nourish and moisturize your nails, it is important to use nail oil regularly. Apply a few drops of nail oil to each nail and massage it into the cuticles and nails. Don’t forget the underside of your free edge. This will help restore moisture balance, strengthen your nails over time, and make them flexible – and flexible nails are nails that rarely break from bumps or knocks.

Now you’re ready to show off your new and well-groomed nails! Follow these steps regularly to maintain healthy and beautiful nails that radiate moisture and health.
